Lead the pharmacy department of a well-established acute care hospital located on Chicago’s South Side with a meaningful mission to serve the community since 1912. This direct hire opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $165,000 to $185,000 annually, plus a $3,000 annual bonus and potential relocation assistance.

Role Overview
As the Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of the hospital’s pharmacy department. Reporting directly to hospital administration, you will collaborate with clinical leadership teams to ensure excellence in patient care delivery. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and weekends from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, supporting a diverse team of 20 pharmacy staff members across full-time, part-time, and PRN roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-scope leadership and management of pharmacy services
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards
- Develop and implement operational policies and clinical programs
- Manage pharmacy budget, staffing, and scheduling
- Foster a culture of excellent community health service and patient-centered care
Qualifications & Experience
- Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory)
- Minimum of three years as a Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital
- Minimum of three years acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- PharmD preferred; board certification and hospital pharmacy residency a plus
- Proven experience managing multi-level pharmacy teams including full, part-time, and PRN staff
- Strong background in regulatory compliance, especially with Joint Commission and CMS
