This contract position runs from ASAP through May 25, 2027, and provides the rewarding opportunity to work 1:1 with a PreK student, delivering meaningful support for approximately 30 hours per week.
As a Sign Language Interpreter, You Will
- Deliver interpreting services for a Deaf or Hard of Hearing student in various school settings
- Facilitate clear, accurate communication between the student, educators, school staff, and peers
- Interpret classroom lessons, meetings, and school activities or events
- Help the student fully participate in the educational environment
- Partner closely with teachers and special education professionals to address individual student needs
- Follow Individualized Education Program (IEP) accommodations and adhere to school policies
- Exercise professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Ideal Candidates Will Have
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification (EIPA score of 3.5+ or higher required)
- Experience in schools or with children (preferred)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
