We are seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead and strategically advance pharmacy services for a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Kansas City, Missouri.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a pharmacy professional with strong 340B, FQHC, HRSA, and outpatient pharmacy experience who is ready to oversee both the clinical and business strategy of a growing pharmacy service line.
The Director of Pharmacy will serve as an executive pharmacy advisor to organizational leadership while maintaining responsibility for pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, financial performance, 340B program integrity, patient access, and continued service-line development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy operations, including staffing, workflow, inventory management, patient safety, and quality improvement.
- Lead administration and optimization of the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program, including compliance, audit readiness, inventory controls, diversion prevention, policy development, and program integrity.
- Maintain full pharmacy P&L ownership, including annual budgeting, capital planning, revenue optimization, margin improvement, and ROI analysis.
- Develop strategies surrounding contract pharmacy performance, wholesaler relationships, specialty pharmacy opportunities, and pharmacy business development.
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and ensure compliance with federal, Missouri, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Oversee pharmacy security, controlled substances, licensing requirements, and regulatory inspections.
- Partner with executive leadership, physicians, and clinical teams to align pharmacy initiatives with organizational, population health, and Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) goals.
- Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, quality assurance programs, and compliance standards related to HRSA, accreditation requirements, payers, and organizational policies.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and manage pharmacy personnel while promoting accountability, engagement, and professional growth.
- Provide clinical oversight for medication management, dispensing, formulary strategy, medication safety, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care.
- Build productive relationships with contract pharmacies, wholesalers, providers, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Remain current on evolving pharmacy practice, 340B regulations, compliance requirements, and industry trends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
- 7+ years of outpatient pharmacy supervisory/leadership experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with outpatient pharmacy, 340B, FQHC, HRSA, and AAAHC requirements.
- Ability to meet all Missouri pharmacist licensure and Pharmacist-in-Charge requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- BCACP – Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist
- 340B University OnDemand certification
- 340B Advanced Operations Certificate (340B ACE)

Compensation: starting at $138,250 annually
