What We’re Looking For
The Assistant Team Leader of Operations is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor and Shipping Supervisor by utilizing available resources to ensure that all warehouse operational tasks are completed safely and efficiently while providing direction to employees and prioritizing work as directed on a daily or weekly basis and in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor and Shipping Supervisor as well as cover the Distribution Managers if need be.
What You Will Do
- Monitor all warehousing shipping and production activities i.e., ensure accuracy, completeness, condition of incoming/outgoing outbound shipments, work orders and finish good putaway
- Consult with management to clarify department priorities, identify concerns, and suggest changes for improvement
- Recommend and/or implement measures to increase productivity
- Maintain and track team metrics and key performance indicators
- Ensure that all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed
- Support and maintain a positive work environment via a commitment to employee relations
- Train, lead, and instruct team members
- Serve as back-up for the East and West Coast Distribution Centers
- Collaborate and cross functional team for problem solving
- Promote and assure the execution of the PCCA values, culture and quality
- Pull work orders for production
- Pick, Pack and Ship customer orders
- Pick, Pack, and Ship distribution orders and international orders
- Schedule times of shipment and modes of transportation for materials
- Travel up to 20%
- Assist with related special projects, as assigned
- Ensure that department objectives are in line with corporate objectives
Who You Are
- High School Diploma
- Five years of experience in a warehouse environment
- Prior experience in a customer focused environment
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building and communication skills
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities
- Intermediate level computer skills in Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work with team members at all levels of the organization to facilitate problem solving and continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness and ability to travel multiple times a year over weekends and holidays as needed
- Willingness and ability to work a rotating schedule
- SharePoint experience, a plus
- Certifications:
- Forklift Certification, a plus
Physical Requirements
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Bending legs downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
