Key Qualifications
- Valid New York State certification in Special Education (Students w/ Disabilities) or currently working toward obtaining certification. Recent graduates or candidates needing licensure transfer are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience writing and managing IEPs.
- Flexibility to work with grades K–2, 3–5, 5–7, or 8–10, based on personal expertise and interest.
- Passion for creating nurturing, inclusive classroom environments and supporting students’ educational growth.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized instruction and adapt lesson plans for students with diverse needs.
- Develop, write, and oversee IEPs in collaboration with staff and families.
- Track student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to ensure student success.
- Maintain a positive, safe classroom atmosphere responsive to each student’s requirements.
Position Details
- Contract from July 13, 2026, through June 24, 2027 (with standard school holidays and spring break).
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm, approximately 35 hours per week.
