We're seeking a dedicated professional with experience in school-based and healthcare social work to provide individualized support for a student with severe autism and high needs. Key Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a social worker
- Previous experience in schools or healthcare social work settings
- Proven ability to support students with autism, preferably with high-needs or severe cases
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Experience guiding or mentoring educational assistants is a plus
Primary Responsibilities
- Offer 1:1 support and direct intervention to a middle school student with severe autism
- Develop and implement individualized strategies to help the student succeed emotionally, socially, and academically
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and other specialists to ensure a cohesive support plan
- Provide guidance, training, and ongoing mentorship to an assigned Educational Assistant working with the student
- Document progress and maintain comprehensive records as required
- Communicate regularly with parents and families, offering resources and recommendations to foster further development
