JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for managing pharmacology studies and laboratory activities to support drug discovery, development, and regulatory submissions. The role oversees the design and execution of in vitro and in vivo pharmacology experiments, data analysis, and interpretation to evaluate safety, efficacy, and mechanism of action of pharmaceutical compounds. The incumbent ensures compliance with GLP, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining data integrity and accurate documentation. It supports study planning, protocol development, and reporting, contributing to high-quality scientific outcomes. The role also drives continuous improvement in study execution and provides guidance and mentoring to junior team members to strengthen pharmacological and analytical capabilities.
Essential Functions
- Design, plan, and oversee in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies to evaluate drug efficacy, safety, and mechanism of action
- Review and interpret experimental data, ensuring scientific accuracy and reliability of results
- Ensure compliance with GLP, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements in all pharmacology activities
- Prepare and review study protocols, reports, and regulatory documentation
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of experimental data and observations
- Support cross-functional collaboration with R&D, toxicology, and clinical teams for integrated drug development
- Monitor laboratory operations, ensuring proper use of equipment, materials, and study procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance study quality, efficiency, and data robustness
- Mentor and guide junior staff to build technical and scientific competencies
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, laboratory practices, and internal quality systems
