Job Description Job Summary: Pharmacy Technician Training Program
Saint Luke's Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated team. This role offers an exceptional entry point through our Pharmacy Technician Training Program , designed for individuals eager to launch a career in pharmacy services.
Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety by compounding, preparing, and distributing medications within our inpatient facility.
Shift: Full-Time, Days
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Management: Accurately pick, fill, and deliver medication orders; manage and restock automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell) throughout the hospital.
- Compounding & Preparation: Prepack medications and compound various forms, including sterile products, chemotherapy, and specialized topicals or oral liquids.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain pharmacy stock levels to ensure essential medications are always available.
- Customer Service: Act as a professional point of contact for hospital staff via phone and the pharmacy front window, resolving inquiries regarding medication services.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in departmental meetings and adhere to strict safety protocols to maintain high clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status within 18 months of hire.
- Experience: Previous pharmacy experience is a plus, but we are happy to train motivated candidates through our internal program.
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
