Join Ecolab as a
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Specialist at our manufacturing facility in
San Bernardino, CA. This position will monitor compliance with SHE regulations while overseeing preparation and response for compliance audits. Further, the position will work with plant and corporate staff on the design, development, coaching, training and administration of SHE systems. In addition, the SHE Specialist will assist plant management to implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, provincial, and federal SHE regulations while managing specific regulatory compliance projects resulting in systems and processes that remediate known areas of concern. The position will also focus on reducing waste generation, increasing recycling, and improving treatment systems. The role is crucial in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment and providing guidance on Safety regulations, making everyone an integral part of our operations.
What You Will Do
- Apply risk management and engineering principles to drive SHE risk reduction efforts and compliance activities, including providing technical support, completing comprehensive risk assessments, and developing and deploying SHE programs.
- Ensure full and consistent compliance to hazardous and dangerous goods handling, storage, and transportation regulation.
- Lead and/or participate in serious SHE incident investigations and ensuring appropriate communication and tracking items to closure.
- Participate in SHE audits, audit program management or self-assessment standard development.
- Coach and mentor site personnel leading or supporting operations by promote engineering control concepts and design, policy and program development, and related activities.
- Support global SHE initiatives and objectives. (e.g. 5S, Safety Observations, Audits, SafeStart)
- Develop, track, and communicate SHE metrics such as safety key performance indicators, result of regulatory inspections, and compliance cost indices.
- Analyze SHE data and trends for correction of gaps to address risk.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Details
- Position is required to work onsite in San Bernardino, CA
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Health, or a related field
- 3 years experience working in a manufacturing or distribution location within an Environmental, Health and Safety role.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional designation
- Experience and/or familiarity with regulations governing the storage, movement, and disposal of dangerous goods (49 CFR, RCRA, PHMSA, CFR, IMDG, and IATA)
- Experience in the design and implementation of risk assessment strategies, tools and systems
Annual Or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $74,700.00 - $112,200.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
