The Opportunity
PK Software powers thousands of compounding pharmacies across the US, Canada, and beyond — and we're investing to make it the leading SaaS platform in compounding pharmacy. This is a high-stakes, mission-driven space: the workflows you improve directly influence how pharmacists operate and, ultimately, patient outcomes.
We're looking for a product leader who can own this evolution — someone who brings the vision and commercial instincts of a SaaS product leader and the discipline to modernize a complex, mature platform without disrupting the customers who depend on it every day.
This is a build-and-lead role, not a caretaker role. You'll set the direction, drive the roadmap, and ship a product compounding pharmacies actively prefer.
What You Will Own
- Product vision and strategy for PK Software — tied to growth, customer outcomes, and modernization
- The roadmap: what gets built, what gets retired, how it's sequenced, and why
- Delivery accountability — from backlog to release, with the rigor and visibility the business needs
- Commercial outcomes in partnership with sales and customer success: adoption, retention, and platform-driven value
- A trusted product narrative for customers, leadership, and engineering
What You Will Do
Set the Strategy & Drive the Roadmap
- Define a phased modernization approach — stabilize, simplify, evolve — and keep it connected to real business and customer outcomes.
- Make clear decisions about what gets improved, rebuilt, or deferred — and communicate the rationale across the organization.
- Translate market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive pressure into a prioritized roadmap you can defend with data.
- Partner with engineering leadership to sequence change in a way that moves the platform forward without disrupting pharmacy operations.
Get Close to the Customer
- Spend real time with compounding pharmacies. Use research, data, direct customer contact, and AI-assisted insights to find the highest-value problems.
- Replace high-friction legacy workflows with experiences customers actively prefer — thoughtfully, and with the regulatory context in mind.
- Communicate product changes and modernization progress to customers and customer- facing teams in plain, trust-building language.
Drive Outcomes, Not Just Output
- Own the product-side levers for adoption, retention, and customer satisfaction — in close partnership with sales and customer success.
- Make hard trade-offs between technical debt, platform investment, and new features — and be transparent about them.
- Partner on GTM readiness and feature rollout to ensure what ships actually lands.
Execute with Discipline
- Drive predictable delivery in an Agile environment (Scrum, SAFe, or similar) with clear throughput and visibility.
- Own and maintain a high-quality backlog in Azure DevOps — clean hierarchy, strong acceptance criteria, and traceability from outcomes to delivered work.
- Manage delivery accountability without a formal PMO: sequence the work, track commitments, escalate blockers early, and keep leadership informed.
- Participate actively in planning, refinement, and retrospectives — and raise the bar on how the team operates over time.
Align Stakeholders & Use Data to Lead
- Keep executives and cross-functional leaders aligned on strategy, sequencing, risk, and trade- offs.
- Define and track KPIs across modernization health — performance, reliability, usability, and delivery predictability.
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) as a genuine productivity edge across discovery, documentation, and prioritization — and extend that mindset to how the team works.
