We are looking for another dedicated person to join us. We have an immediate opening for a full time Production Equipment Senior Technician at our headquarters in Santa Maria, CA. The Production Equipment Senior Technician’s overall responsibilities include the installation, inspection, repair, calibration, and maintenance of equipment, and instrumentation used in the biological culture media manufacturing field. The PEST mentors and guides the subordinate Production Equipment Technicians (Tech II & I).
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Services various equipment and apparatus, such as media reactors, autoclaves, controlled heating pad devices, direct labeling printers, bagging and labeling machinery, weighing and measuring devices, transport and conveying equipment, process plate filling lines and other related technical
- Repairs, calibrates, and maintains equipment, using hand-tools, power tools, measuring devices, and knowledge of manufacturers' manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive-maintenance
- Safety-tests manufacturing equipment to ensure staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards.
- Consults with manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely, using knowledge of mechanics, electronics and biomedical
- Demonstrates and explains correct operation of equipment to manufacturing
- Modifies or develops instruments or devices, in partnership with original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Company Engineering Division, manufacturing management, quality assurance and quality control
- Works on new equipment projects as assigned by supervisor. Work may include developing project charters if required, developing process/machinery requirements and specifications, evaluating alternatives (quantitatively), forming implementation team, scheduling meetings, developing project schedule, facilitating installation, running production trials and pilots, training maintenance and production personnel, developing and communicating PM schedule requirements to FaciliWorks CMMS Administrator, procuring spare
Two-year certificate from college or technical school is desirable; or five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.
