Labconco Corporation, a leading manufacturer of laboratory equipment with a 100-year legacy of innovation, quality, and customer focus, is seeking a driven and analytical Cost Accounting Analyst to join our team and help shape the financial performance of our growing organization.
In this highly visible role, you will lead key cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis, while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning initiatives. Partnering with teams across Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance, you will develop financial models, analyze cost drivers, uncover opportunities for improvement, and deliver actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and update standard costs (materials, labor and overhead), as well as lead detailed variance analysis and communicate key drivers.
- Oversee and optimize inventory accounting (e.g., inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence, etc.); monitor and perform analysis on inventory levels, turns, and aging.
- Oversee and support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement to understand product cost drivers; collaborate to develop opportunities for improvement (e.g., supplier change, make vs. buy, efficiencies, etc.).
- Partner and work cross-functionally with business leaders to support the development of the Company’s annual budget, forecasts, and long-range plans; perform financial modeling, analyze key drivers, and provide insights to guide decision-making.
- Perform financial analysis, including product pricing, cost, and margin analysis for existing products, as well as future product launches; support post-launch reviews to assess actual vs. expected performance.
- Partner and work cross-functionally with subsidiary business unit leaders to support monthly financial reviews; analyze performance, identify key drivers and variances, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Assist with pricing strategy, including detailed analysis and communication with business partners.
- Introduce incremental improvements to key reporting to support the overall decision-making process of the business; ensure reporting capabilities evolve as business practices change and improve.
- Work with IT and other departments to manage business data collection to ensure accuracy and integrity of data collected.

Work ScheduleNormal working hours are typically 8 hour work day within the operating hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm Monday – Friday; unless otherwise discussed and/or established by the manager or seasonal schedule changes. From time to time additional hours may be required, as needed. This position is expected to work onsite.

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel and Power Point skills. Previous experience in Cognos and Query are a plus.
- Ability to analyze and interpret large sets of data.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
- Ability to analyze data and apply math and reasoning to problem-solving.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field;
- 3+ Years of relevant finance and costing experience
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Experience working with ERP and large datasets.
