Role Description The Director of Pharmacy is a full-time, on-site leadership role located in Titusville, FL, responsible for overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations within the facility. This role manages and develops pharmacy staff, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient medication use and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. The Director collaborates closely with medical, nursing, and administrative leaders to support clinical initiatives, optimize formulary management, and advance patient-centered pharmaceutical care. Daily responsibilities include supervising medication distribution and clinical services, managing budgets and inventory, monitoring quality and performance metrics, and implementing policies, protocols, and continuous improvement projects. The Director also serves as a key resource for pharmacy practice standards, staff education, and strategic planning aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy operations, including oversight of inpatient and/or outpatient services.
- Strong background in Pharmaceutical Care and Medicine, with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered therapy management.
- Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management or coordination with payers and benefit plans is preferred.
- Current PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) or relevant residency training is a plus.
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Florida.
- Proven leadership skills, including staff supervision, performance management, and team development.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, state board of pharmacy) and medication safety standards.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and inventory management abilities, with experience using pharmacy information systems and related technology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment.
