Key Responsibilities
In this specialized cancer center pharmacy, you will serve as a core clinical stakeholder and compliance expert. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Clinical Review: Evaluate and validate all complex chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medication orders for perfect therapeutic alignment.
Sterile Compounding: Oversee and perform precise compounding, mixing, and dosing calculation adjustments for chemotherapy treatments.
Clinical Recommendations: Analyze drug-drug and drug-disease interactions, providing highly collaborative clinical insights directly to community oncologists and healthcare providers.
Regulatory Compliance: Act as a leading expert on USP <797> and USP <800> standards, ensuring absolute safety in hazardous sterile compounding.
Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous pharmacy safety protocols and quality control mechanisms in compliance with California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations.
Cost & Asset Management: Actively manage high-cost oncology drug lines, optimizing inventory management and reducing waste while keeping the highest standards of care.
Position Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of active, hands-on chemotherapy mixing and clinical oncology experience.
Licensure: Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of California.
Technical Knowledge: Deep, operational familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800> requirements.
Core Skills: High level of autonomy, excellent collaborative communication skills for provider relations, and strong clinical decision-making capabilities.
