Job Description
Pay Rate: $35/Hr.- $40/Hr.
The successful candidate for the QC Scientist I position will join the QC team with a multifaceted approach for providing high value services based on the Eurofins DiscoverX Products platform and other proprietary technologies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Quality control of cell lines, assay ready products and reagents. Assist with custom orders where necessary.
- Execution of cell-based assays under aseptic conditions, following detailed SOPs.
- Working closely with R&D to ensure smooth, efficient, and successful execution of new bioassay assay process transfer to Cell Production and QC.
- Help to implement Master Cell Bank (MCB) and/or Working Cell Bank (WCB) process flow and related SOPs.
- Perform Mycoplasma and Sterility test on production lots
- Perform QC result data analysis and present data to Manager
- Troubleshooting functional issues related to product performance where necessary.
- Prepare reagents and cell culture media using aseptic technique
- Maintain laboratory equipment, reagent inventories, and laboratory/electronic notebooks
- Participate and present data in weekly group meetings.
- Revise or generate new QC SOPs as needed
- Organization and maintenance of ligand stock libraries.
- Actively maintain lab organization according to Lean principles.
- Ensure that lab is always clean and tidy.
- Other duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
- B.S or Masters in a relevant life science with at least 2 years of industrial experience which includes culturing various cell lines and performing cell-based assays.
- Hands on experience with cell culture and aseptic technique is required.
- Must be able to utilize basic math and chemistry concepts for preparing solutions and cell suspensions.
- A solid understanding of basic biochemistry and cell biology is required.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are required.
- Must be able to work as a member of a team and independently
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be comfortable and experienced working in a commercially focused lab environment.
- Must able to follow SOPs, make careful observation, and to keep clear and complete records of work.
Ability And/or Skill
- Experience in culturing mammalian cells is required
- Knowledge of using Excel, PowerPoint or other programs for laboratory sample and reagent management is a plus.
- Experience in cryopreservation of mammalian cells is required
- Experience plating into 96- and/or 384-well plates using an automated liquid dispenser is desirable.

Work Environment:
- Laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard laboratory equipment. This position operates in a BSL1/2 laboratory setting. There is potential for exposure to human tissues and fluids.
