Director, Strategy – Proteomic Sciences
The Director of Strategy, Proteomic Sciences (PSX), is a senior leadership role reporting to the President of PSX and serving on the PSX Senior Management Team, with a dotted-line relationship to the LSG Strategy team. This leader will shape and drive the long-term growth strategy for the proteomics business by developing market insights, evaluating technology and competitive trends, and translating strategy into measurable business outcomes.
In addition to leading strategic planning and the annual STRAP process, this role will partner closely with business leaders across PSX, LSG, and Corporate Strategy to drive portfolio decisions, investment priorities, digital transformation, AI-enabled initiatives, and growth opportunities. The Director will also lead a small team of strategy professionals and influence decision-making across a highly matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual STRAP process, including market analysis, strategic planning, scenario development, and executive alignment.
- Develop long-term market outlooks and assess customer, technology, and competitive trends across proteomics and adjacent markets.
- Evaluate growth opportunities, investment priorities, partnerships, and M&A opportunities.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives, operating plans, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
- Partner with GMs, Division Presidents, and functional leaders to drive execution and business performance.
- Prepare executive-level recommendations and presentations for division and corporate leadership.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives spanning portfolio strategy, productivity, digital transformation, and AI.
- Lead and develop a high-performing strategy team.
Required Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent business training with strong financial and strategic analysis capabilities.
- 7+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or business analysis within life sciences, diagnostics, biotech, or related industries.
- Knowledge of life science research, therapeutic development, diagnostics, and multi-omics markets.
- Strong understanding of business models across instruments, consumables, software, and services.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive decisions in a matrixed environment.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising executive leadership teams, including GMs and Division Presidents.
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation, portfolio strategy, digital, or AI initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional alignment and organizational change in global, matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated leadership potential with interest in broader business leadership opportunities.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $180,000.00–$200,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
