Position Overview
We are seeking a highly meticulous and skilled Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our state-of-the-art laboratory. In this role, you will be a vital link in our patient care chain, safely and accurately preparing customized sterile and non-sterile medications. Working under the direct guidance of licensed pharmacists, you will navigate advanced compounding environments, maintain impeccable quality standards, and ensure strict compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Precision Compounding: Formulate high-quality customized medications—including capsules, troches, topical creams, and specialized solutions—across both ISO 5 cleanrooms and non-sterile hazardous environments.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Maintain an expert-level grasp of aseptic techniques and strict adherence to USP <795>, <797>, and <800> protocols, ensuring flawless traceability and documentation.
Order Management: Read and interpret complex physician orders, handle batch compounding runs, and prepare finished medications securely for nationwide distribution.
Clinical Mathematics: Accurately perform complex pharmaceutical calculations to guarantee precise dosing and ingredient measurements.
Lab Operations & Inventory: Monitor cleanroom compliance, manage raw ingredient stock, calibrate specialized lab equipment, and actively participate in the pharmacy’s performance improvement programs.
Dynamic Collaboration: Cross-train across multiple laboratory workstations, partner closely with the broader pharmacy team to optimize daily workflow, and represent the Rx Relief brand with professionalism.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Credentials & Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Active Pharmacy Technician License in good standing with the State Board.
CPhT and PTCB certifications are strictly required.
Experience & Skills:
Prior hands-on experience working within a sterile compounding facility.
Sharp analytical math skills with a hyper-focus on detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with pharmacy management software, compounding platforms (such as PCCA), and standard office tech (MS Office Suite, Outlook).
Strong organizational habits with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume setting.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to remain standing or sitting for extended periods.
Comfortable working while fully gowned in PPE within an ISO 5 cleanroom or hazardous compounding lab for long stretches.
Capability to occasionally bend, squat, and lift up to 20 lbs.
