Our Lead Compounding Technician and Trainer plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality and safety standards of our pharmaceutical products. Once you complete our training, your responsibilities will include coordinating and where appropriate delivering new employee orientation, preparing individual training plans, monitoring progress against individual training plans, assuring subject matter experts/qualified trainers are available to support on the job training, tracking and assuring required training documentation is obtained, proposing effective methods of training and performing verification and effectiveness checks in conjunction with completion of individual training plans and providing counsel and recommending enhancement to training plans and processes. This position is responsible for compounding sterile preparations as per work instructions, trains compounding technicians on-site in the clean room and bulk formulations in mixing rooms on compounding operations and documenting training and communicates any deficiencies to the Operations Management. This is a full-time role for our 3rd shift, working Monday through Friday 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. This is a set, consistent schedule with minimum overtime requirements and based on site in our Bloomsbury location. This is a safety sensitive position that may be subject to random drug testing, in accordance with applicable laws.
What The Lead Compounding Technician and Trainer Does Each Day:
- Complies with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
- Coaches compounders to always utilize correct and appropriate aseptic techniques
- Compounds all required types of sterile preparations accurately and in compliance with master worksheets
- Operates all compounding equipment accurately and according to policy and procedure
- Support disinfection of materials prior to transporting into ISO 7 Room (Clean Room) and to manufacturing hoods
- Performs and oversees cleaning of the clean room areas thoroughly and according to policy
- Assists in conducting initial and ongoing training of new employees with completion of required documentation
- Ensures advanced complex media fill qualifications are performed on employees as required
- Oversees activities of other compounding technicians in compounding and routine activities
- Maintains a high degree of productivity within recommended guidelines
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert
- Assists other pharmacy technicians and/or staff as necessary, including other areas of the operation
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and continually strive to improve efficiency
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the job, completing all annual competencies and skills validations
- Passes all initial and on-going validations and advanced complex media-fill qualifications
- Tracks and ensure status of compounder qualifications for initial garbing and aseptic processes and annual gowning and aseptic process re-qualification
- Effectively integrates knowledge into the job and continuously attains new knowledge
- Maintains accurate records of all assignments
- Cooperates with team members to accomplish departmental goals
- Ensures timely completion of batch record documentation, manufacturing operations logs, cleaning logs, comply with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices (21CFR210 and 211), Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), company policies and procedures
- Communicates effectively to Operations, Quality and other functional support staff
- Arrives at work as scheduled and notifies supervisors in a timely manner of any absences

Minimum Requirements For This Role - A High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
- Able and willing to walk, stoop, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout each shift, with or without reasonable accommodation
- 18+ years of age
- Familiarity with and comfortable using mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, handhelds
- Able and willing to follow “garb and gown” requirements from head to toe in order to maintain a sterile, clean room environment. This includes:
- Hand washing
- Wearing hair net, shoe covers, facemask, sterile gown, and gloves, etc.
- Stringent regulations concerning, for example, the carrying of cellphones, the wearing of jewelry and makeup, and the length / type of fingernails
- 3 years of direct IV compounding experience
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Quva is not able to sponsor applicants for work visas
