Position Overview
We are looking for a pharmacy technician who is responsible for assisting with processing of prescription orders, labels, creation of compounding records, delivery tickets and the assembly of patient supplies and equipment under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician also assists with quality control, maintenance, and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas, as described in the Pharmacy Policy and Procedures Manual, and performance improvement activities as directed by the pharmacy manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Recognize and support patients’ rights and responsibilities, including maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare, package, and distribute medications prescribed by physicians
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy environment
- Calibrate pumps daily for base solutions
- Accurately follow dispensing, processing, and shipping procedures on a daily basis
- Assist with patient communication, order scheduling, insurance verification, and work order preparation
- Maintain all legally required records accurately
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Participate in patient evaluations as needed
- Assist in training new team members and provide feedback when appropriate
- Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nursing, and clinical staff to support pharmacy services
- Maintain department facilities, equipment, and materials to promote efficiency, safety, and quality
- Support inventory control procedures
- Complete required paperwork and computer-based tasks
- Share knowledge with team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment
- Interact with others in a positive, respectful, and professional manner
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required.
- Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Completion of pharmacy technician training; certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Pharmacy Technician Association preferred. Certification is to be completed within one year of employment.
- Laboratory or healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must successfully complete all required pharmacy competencies within the first 90 days of employment.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer proficiency
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Previous experience with CPR+ or CareTend software and home infusion environments a plus, but not required.
