In this role, you’ll manage an elementary caseload, developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs that are fully compliant with IDEA, Illinois regulations, and district policies. A collaborative mindset will serve you well, as you’ll regularly interact and communicate with support staff, administrators, and families, ensuring each student receives comprehensive and coordinated support.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement (LBS1)
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Familiarity with current special education methodologies
- Understanding of classroom management, IEP processes, and individualized instruction
- Knowledge of child development theories and best practices
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an elementary-level caseload
- Create, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
