TheSenior ClinicalEditorial Operations Manageris responsible forday-to-day clinical content operations across Editorial, with a primary focus on contractor workflow oversight, quality assurance(QA), and sustainable implementation of process improvements and innovation initiatives. This role centralizes operational accountability for clinical contractor deliverablesand QA to ensure workremainsaligned toestablishedMicromedex editorial standards, governance, and end-to-end publication expectations.The role also includes direct management of clinical operations team members and oversight ofclinicalsurveillance workflows.
This rolepartners closely withotherEditorial leaders and the Senior DirectorofContent Innovation & Optimization to operationalize changes (eg, AI-powered search feedback, information architecture and knowledge-layer improvements) whilemaintainingconsistency across content portfolios.
Contractor operations & resourcing:Own contractor resource strategy, including capacity planning, allocation, and optimization of resources to meet business needs;oversee contractor schedules, deliverables, and communications;maintainstrong partnerships withcontractorintegrators, consultants, andMerativeContractor Operations, Procurement, and Accounts Payable.
Peopleleadership & team management:Lead and develop theclinical operationsteam,including goalssetting,establishingperformanceexpectations, coaching, andcareerdevelopment; set priorities and provide oversight aligned withstrategic priorities.
Workflow governance & documentation:In partnership with editors and managers,establishand governprocessestocreate,maintain, and improve workflows, SOPs, policies, and style guides; keep documentation current and accessible.
Intake, triage, and prioritization:Partner with the Senior Director of Content Innovation and Optimization and Editorial Leadership to run intake and triage for innovation requests, optimization opportunities, and AI-search feedback; route work and track outcomes.
Change management & workflow redesign:Bring forwardandtranslateinnovation initiatives intooperationalplans, includingtraining, documentation, QA,andhandoffs; reduce variationand duplicationacross content modules to enable scaling.
Cross-functional partnership:Actas Editorial’s operationalliaisonwith Content Innovation & Optimization,Development, andProduct Management, supportingproduct changeswithcontentimpact(eg, vector-basedand AIsearch evolution,productredesign).
Incident response coordination:Coordinate Editorial incident response, ensuringtimelyintake, prioritization, communication, and follow-through.
Operational reporting:Track Editorial KPIs such as throughput, quality, timeliness, and rework; provide regular updates to leadership and the Micromedex Senior Leadership Team.
Qualificationsfor success
3+ years ofdemonstratedpeople leadership and project management experience, with the ability to manage team members and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives; accountable for prioritization, execution, and delivery across multiple workstreams in a dynamic, operational environment
Strong understanding of editorial governance and the importance of content integrity, including adherence to standards, policies, and style guidance
Strong computer skills; familiarity with MS Office365products (Word, Excel, Outlook,Teams,Copilot)
Experience managing clinicaloreditorial operations, including contractor/vendor oversight, workflow execution, and quality assurance
Compensation
The salary range provided in this job posting is intended to reflect the general market value for the position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific requirements of the role. This range may also be subject to change as market conditions evolve. We encourage open communication throughout the interview process to discuss compensation expectations. For base-salary + commission sales roles, the range represents On-Target Earnings.
