Job Summary
The Purchasing Clerk will support the business and purchasing department activities by ordering supplies and raw materials. This position report directly to the purchasing Manager
Duties/Responsibilities
· Prepare purchase orders
· Keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders
· Monitor inventory, perform buying duties when necessary, and contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries.
· Track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, and calculate relevant costs
· Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
· Establishes and maintains recordkeeping system for purchasing department.
· Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Effective organizational and detailed oriented skills
· Experience providing effective customer service
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
· Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Educational Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· At least two years of clerical experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
