Job Summary And Qualifications
The primary focus of this role is to participate in and lead initiatives related to the enterprise-wide transition and standardization of the electronic medical records from a clinical nutrition perspective. This position will collaborate closely with clinical nutrition professionals and interdisciplinary stakeholders to define, implement, and maintain standardized documentation and workflows within the EMR system. This role requires a unique blend of clinical nutrition expertise and informatics acumen to optimize patient care, drive consistency, and ensure smooth integrations. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between clinical teams and technical departments to align nutrition services with broader health information strategies.
What you will do in this role includes:
Leadership
- Serves as the clinical nutrition service line expert in relation to EMR build and cutovers
- Collaborate with clinical nutrition experts to define and implement documentation standards
- Completes onsite clinical nutrition workflow assessment prior to EMR cutover
- Responsible for creating education materials in regards to diet orders and clinical nutrition documentation
- Collaborate with ITG partners in the testing of diet orders, supplements, and tube feeding products
- Responsible for the verification of standard builds
- Manage cutovers from a clinical nutrition perspective
- Collaborate with EMR teams and facility leaders to incorporate facility practices into standard documentation standards
- Leads reconciliation efforts with division and facility RDs on day of cutover
Clinical
- Responsible for maintaining standardized diet, supplement, and tube feeding orders in EMR
- Responsible for diet order, supplement, and tube feeding enhancements within EMR
- Collaborates with Division Clinical Team on diet order standardization
- Responsible for documentation standards with standard EMR
Customer Service
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with a variety of leader stakeholders
- Utilize technology and innovation to provide better service to patients
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree Nutrition – Required
- Master's degree – Preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory leadership role – Preferred
- 3+ years of experience in hospital clinical nutrition role – Preferred
- 1+ year(s) of experience with EMR integrations – Preferred
- Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration – Required
- Licensed by the Department of Licensing and Regulation as appropriate per state – Preferred
- Employment in this position is contingent upon continued registration as a dietitian – Required
