Description:
Packaging Operator I is an entry-level role within the packaging department, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment. This position ensures in-process products are packaged in accordance with the Packaging Batch Record, while strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) throughout all operations.
Day Shift - 12-hour rotating schedule (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
Essential Functions:
- Carries out packaging operations in strict compliance with cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), environmental and safety regulations, and other applicable guidelines.
- Consistently uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows all gowning and safety protocols.
- Handles the disposal of rejected products and packaging components in designated disposal areas, in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Inspects and verifies bulk product and packaging components prior to their entry into the packaging room.
- Ensures the packaging line and room are clean, well-organized, and properly prepared for packaging operations.
- Maintains accurate logbook entries by recording relevant information before and after each batch operation.
- Performs in-process quality control checks during packaging operations and accurately documents the results in the Packaging Batch Record.
- Verifies the accuracy of scales and balances by performing weight checks and ensures all equipment is within calibration status prior to initiating packaging operations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other functions as required or assigned.
- Complies with all company policies and standards.
- Flexible to work extended hours and weekends when required.
Day Shift – 12-hour per day, rotating schedule (6:00am-6:30pm) 3 days on week 1 and 4 days on week 2 of pay cycle
Education:
- High School or GED GED General HS Curriculum - Preferred
Experience:
- less than one year in Pharmaceutical Packaging/Manufacturing
Specialized Knowledge:
- Knowledge of safety, cGMP and SOP
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $18.00- $22.00 per hour. In addition, Amneal offers a short-term incentive opportunity, such as a bonus or performance-based award, as well as a long-term incentive award, such as restricted stock units, with this position within the first 12 months.
