A respected LA County health system is seeking an outpatient pharmacist for a long-term contract opportunity with strong potential for permanent hire. Responsibilities
- Perform outpatient pharmacy duties in a high-volume clinical setting
- Verify prescriptions and ensure accurate medication dispensing
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and healthcare staff to optimize patient care
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and operational standards
- Support daily workflow and patient service initiatives within the outpatient pharmacy
Requirements
- Active California Pharmacist license
- PGY1 residency required OR approximately 2 years of current pharmacy experience
- Candidates with some hospital experience, including internship experience, may be considered
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills
- Ability to work flexible 8-hour shifts including primarily days and evenings
- Must successfully pass a pharmacy competency exam and background screening process
