The
Regional Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and well-being within our organization. The Health and Safety will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. The primary focus of the role will be to assess, mitigate and manage risk, fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes the health and safety of our employees.

The Opportunity
Responsibilities & Duties
Safety Culture:
- Create a safety culture for all Medisca sites by maintaining the company’s safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) rules and regulations
Policy Development And Implementation
- Develop, implement, and update Medisca health and safety policies in addition to any SOPs that covers safety topics to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate new policies effectively to all levels of the organization and ensure understanding and adherence.
Documentation And Reporting
- Maintain meticulous records for OSHA compliance and manage workers compensation claims in collaboration with Director of Operation and People and Culture.
- Handle all OSHA sites related issues such as inspections, yearly reports, job site posters, citations, hearings.
Risk Assessment And Mitigation
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and hazards.
Training And Education
- Design and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs for all sites employees.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate relevant updates into training initiatives.
- Serve as a member of the site safety committees (Physically or Virtually), and provide recommendations, clarifications, or training regarding any safety topic and expectations.
Incident Management
- Establish and lead incident response and investigation procedures.
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Compliance And Auditing
- Stay abreast of relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with established health and safety protocols.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement sites emergency response plans.
- Coordinate drills and exercises to ensure readiness in the event of emergencies.
Communication And Reporting
- Communicate health and safety updates to employees and management.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on health and safety performance.
- Recommend to Director of Operation and People & Culture disciplinary actions against safety policy violators.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement in health and safety performance.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall safety culture.
Qualifications
- Five (5) to even (7) years in a health and safety leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and persuade employees to follow his/her example in the areas of safety, health, and the environment.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel) required.
- Excellent communication skills: Fluent English (oral & written) required. Ability to speak other languages, German or French is a plus.
- Proven abilities to apply good judgement, ethical practice and decision-making skills.
- Detail oriented, ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel globally to our facilities, approximately 25% of the time.
