Position Summary
The Sr. Marketing Manager - Commercial is a key member of the marketing leadership team and is responsible for managing a team focused on product and integrated marketing strategy, planning, and execution to support the Commercial lines of businesses (LOB) in achieving growth objectives. Current areas of business responsibility include Commercial & Industrial (C&I), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Sponsor Finance Group (SFG), Byline Financial Group/Equipment Leasing (BFG), Treasury Management, and Small Business Capital (SBC).
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develops an overall vision and strategy for Consumer marketing, ensuring strategic plans are aligned with the overall organizational growth strategy and Byline brand.
- Leads the Commercial Marketing Annual Marketing planning process.
- Serves as the primary marketing contact with Commercial leadership and key stakeholders, meeting regularly to understand their business, strategic plans, annual priorities, and goals.
- Develops and maintains familiarity with Commercial industry market and competitors including products, advertising strategies, sales support, marketing campaigns, marketing capabilities, and promotional activities.
- Identifies opportunities to drive business growth across Commercial LOBs through an understanding of the business-to-business sales process, prospecting initiatives, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborates with the LOBs and internal/external marketing partners to develop, plan, and execute integrated marketing campaigns with a focus on driving revenue, lead generation, driving customer conversion, mitigating attrition, and improving overall retention and customer value.
- Lead the annual event strategy to support prospecting, lead generation and nurturing, and client appreciation.
- Lead thought leadership and content strategy to strengthen the Byline brand across commercial verticals and lines of business.
- Develops and clearly articulates value propositions for each Commercial LOB for the purpose of marketing storytelling.
- Collaborates with Lifecycle and Digital team on engagement and cross-sell initiatives to maximize customer relationships and lifetime value with Byline.
- Develops reporting to measure Return on Marketing Investment across all business lines and contribution to LOB goals and priorities.
- Forecasts, sets, tracks, and reports on quantifiable KPIs to continuously optimize marketing performance and efficiency.
- Sets, tracks, and manages Commercial Marketing budget by LOB, working closely with budget leads to ensure delivery of marketing budget and all back-up necessary for invoice payments and accruals.
- Partners with Product team to develop go-to-market strategies to support product/service launches, entry into new verticals, etc.
- Manages team of direct reports including allocation of work and oversight to ensure understanding and alignment with ongoing priorities and delivery of projects on time and on budget.
- Conducts regular one-on-one meetings as required.
- Sets and tracks performance goals and development plans through Annual Performance Planning.
- Conducts regular performance conversations, including formal mid-year and year-end.
- Serve as key member of Marketing leadership team, role modeling mindset of innovation, agility, and embracing change and helping to build/strengthen culture of camaraderie and accountability.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with preference for Business, Marketing, Finance, or related degree.
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in marketing, product management, general management, and/or marketing leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team towards established goals through prioritization, delegation, and accountability, in an evolving environment.
- Ability to articulate vision and ideas via PowerPoint with strong communication skills, both written and presentation/verbal.
- Proven ability to influence key stakeholders and executives on vision and marketing plans, informed and supported by data.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and stakeholders, negotiate priorities and expectations diplomatically, and deliver on commitments for cross‑functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and interest in learning additional systems and software platforms including project management, bank core system software for report export and analysis, and accounting software, as needed.
- Strong proficiency in Excel—including building and manipulating pivot tables and additional Excel and Reporting duties, as required.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for “building” (capabilities, teams, ideas, etc.)
- Ability to think strategically and analytically while rolling up your sleeves to manage details and ensure strong execution and follow‑through.
- Experience in financial services or related industry an asset (Preferred)
- Experience with direct response and performance marketing (Preferred)
- Experience leveraging CRM data and marketing automation strategies, with platforms such as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hubpot, etc. (Preferred)
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.
At Byline Bank, we value work-life flexibility and support a hybrid work environment for this position. This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation & Benefits
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
The salary range for this position is between $110,000 to $125,000
medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, paid time off and much more! Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
