The position is responsible for acting as the Regional Manager of Nursing under the leadership of the Regional Director of Nursing for a team of clinical home infusion nurses and is responsible for acting as the Regional Manager for all patient care services in their assigned region. The Regional Manager will maintain sufficient, qualified staff, ensuring patient issues are promptly and correctly addressed, and supervising any unforeseen occurrences that may arise. The Regional Manager, as permitted by state licensure regulations, will also provide direct patient care to implanted pump therapy and/or infusion patients and is responsible for assessing actual and potential patient problems.
The Regional Manager will participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in coordination with the pharmacy team, financial services team, sales team, and nursing leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Licensed RN, in good standing with the practicing state’s Board of Nursing required.
- 3 years of clinical experience with 1 year of acute care or alternate site IV therapy experience preferred.
- At least one year of management experience required.
- Knowledge of State and Regulatory and Accreditation Standards.
- Current CPR Certification required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of the Regional Director (RD), the Regional Manager organizes, supervises, and provides leadership in the areas of nursing and patient care services to attain company objectives.
- Acts as a resource and consultant to physicians, referral sources, and patients.
- With RD oversight, assures quality of care by developing and interpreting infusion nursing standards of practice, state boards of nursing and other accreditation agencies, measuring outcomes against standards.
- With RD oversight, maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and
auxiliary staff with a focus on staff retention.
- Under the direction of the RD:
- Maintains nursing staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Provides oversight in the development of new employee onboarding, in-services, competencies, and educational initiatives to support quality of care and improve clinical acumen of nurses.
- Provides leadership oversight to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of
physician and company’s policies & procedures.
- Coordinates with the patient’s pharmacy staff on issues of patient care, drug delivery, and clinical
assessment.
- Maintains nursing guidelines by collaboration with writing and updating policies and procedures as needed.
- Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and procedures.
- Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications related to specific infusion therapies, and participating in professional organizations.
- Monitors expenses and nursing productivity. This includes activities such as establishing goals, monitoring statistics, developing work plans, and supervising on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensures compliance with goals and objectives established by the company.
- Maintains knowledge of nursing trends and educational techniques and program evaluation methods consistent with nursing standards.
- Establishes opportunities to acquire input and assesses educational needs from stakeholders across areas supported by Nursing Education Department. (Such as Shared Governance Committee, Quality Committees)
- Reviews and provides input for educational resources to support quality care of populations served across continuum of care.
- Complies with requirements of regulatory, licensing, and accrediting agencies.
- Provides direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the company.
- Assume patient care responsibilities at home should a need arise.

- The Regional Manager is responsible to intercede, and report impaired, incompetent, or unethical practice of nursing.
