Shape the beginning of the school year by providing essential support as a Special Education Teacher in a preschool setting. This full-time contract opportunity, located near Bessemer, AL, focuses on serving a self-contained classroom with nine students on your caseload. The position runs from 7:45am to 3:15pm, offering consistent hours each week (ranging from 37.5 to 40). Qualifications And Experience
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (applicable to preschool/early childhood)
- Experience or coursework in early childhood special education strongly preferred
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Effective communication skills with both students and caregivers
- Strong organizational abilities and adaptability in a self-contained classroom
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s needs
- Develop and monitor IEPs, tracking student progress and updating goals as required
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environment for preschool-aged children
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, teaching assistants, and families to optimize student growth
