Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Scientist specializing in Bacteriology, based in San Diego, CA. The Scientist Bacteriology will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments focused on bacteriology research and product development. Responsibilities include developing bacterial assay systems, interpreting experimental data, writing technical reports, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. The role also involves evaluating new technologies and ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Bacteriology, including aseptic techniques and bacterial culture.
- Expertise in molecular biology and microbiology techniques such as PCR, sequencing, and genetic manipulation.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and documenting experimental results accurately.
- Ability to develop and optimize assay systems, with a focus on reproducibility and compliance.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to overcome research and development challenges.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field; 2-5 years’ experience in bacteriology or diagnostic assay development preferred.
- Understanding of laboratory safety settings and regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Experience with in vitro diagnostic product development or related regulated environment is highly desirable.
