The Senior Director of Pharmacy Operations provides enterprise leadership and operational oversight for managed pharmacy services supporting complex, high-acuity, and vulnerable patient populations. This role will be responsible for the execution, performance, and scalability of multi-site pharmacy operations across regulated care settings.
The Senior Director translates organizational strategy into reliable operating models, ensuring clinical quality, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and financial sustainability. This role leads leaders, partners cross-functionally, and supports growth through new service models, partnerships, and market expansion.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership oversight of pharmacy operations delivering services to complex patient populations, including long-term care, value-based care, institutional, and delegated pharmacy models.
- Execute standardized operating models across managed pharmacy services to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, turnaround time, productivity, service levels, and patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and payer requirements.
- Lead and develop pharmacy and operations leaders, including Pharmacy Managers and support staff.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, IT, finance, and compliance partners.
- Support operational readiness for new services, partnerships, and market expansions.
- Build trusted partnership with managed pharmacy services partners at the clinic and leadership level, supporting account management with the continued growth and collaboration.

Education
- PharmD or RPH required. Active, unrestricted Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license required.
- Multi-state licensure preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive pharmacy or healthcare operations leadership experience with multi-site oversight.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site, regulated pharmacy operations serving complex or high-acuity patient populations.
- Experience with managed pharmacy services, delegated arrangements, MSOs, joint ventures, or health system partnerships strongly preferred.
- Proven success operating in growth-oriented, highly regulated, and performance-driven environments.
Skills & Abilities
- Proven track record in pharmacy operations process development, building efficient and high performing teams
- Deep knowledge of pharmacy operations, compliance, and managed service models.
- Demonstrated success establishing partnerships with provider organizations (home health, primary care, specialty care, IDNs, or MSOs).
- Knowledge of pharmacy services, medication management programs, or healthcare technology solutions strongly preferred.
Travel
Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.
