School Psychologist (K 12)

Position Overview
We are seeking multiple School Psychologists to join a dedicated special education team in Kansas City, KS for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is specifically designed for professionals who specialize in comprehensive psychological testing for students with intense disabilities, including those who are non verbal, physically impaired, or utilize Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative Communication devices.
Job Details
- Caseload: K 12 students with complex, high intensity needs.
- Format: Strictly in person.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel between multiple campus sites within the district as needed to conduct assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct specialized psychological and psychoeducational testing for students with significant cognitive and physical impairments.
- Adapt assessment strategies for students using assistive technology or alternative communication methods.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret data and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide expert consultation on the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students with intense disabilities.
Requirements
- Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for an active Kansas (KS) School Specialist License in School Psychology.
- Completion of a graduate level program in School Psychology.
- Successful completion of the Praxis School Psychologist exam.
- Completion of a supervised internship (minimum of 1,200 clock hours).
- Expertise: Proven experience or specialized training in assessing students with complex needs (non verbal, AT users, or significant physical impairments) is highly preferred.
- Skills: Flexibility to manage a traveling schedule and the ability to build rapport with students with diverse communication styles.
