As part of the Medical organization, the Director, Medical Corporate Development plays a critical role in supporting Azurity’s growth strategy by providing independent, scientifically rigorous medical evaluations of potential pipeline assets and FDA and other global regulators‑approved product acquisition targets. As a member of Medical, this role partners closely with the dedicated Corporate Development function within Azurity while maintaining clear medical governance and compliance boundaries.
The Director serves as a senior medical reviewer and strategic thought partner, collaborating cross‑functionally with Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance to inform investment decisions, diligence strategy, and post‑acquisition Medical readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Development & Asset Evaluation
- Lead medical and scientific due diligence for potential pipeline assets and other global regulators‑approved acquisition targets.
- Evaluate established safety, efficacy, and benefit‑risk profiles of assets under consideration.
- Assess regulatory pathways, including required endpoints, labeling considerations, and lifecycle implications.
- Identify data gaps, development risks, and post‑approval evidence needs.
Strategic Scientific & Competitive Analysis
- Develop therapeutic area landscape and competitive intelligence analyses.
- Present synthesized medical insights to support asset prioritization and valuation decisions.
- Advise on scientific platform implications and future investment requirements.
Cross‑Functional Medical Leadership
- Serve as the medical interface for Corporate Development while preserving Medical independence and compliance.
- Partner with Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance teams on diligence assumptions and integration planning.
- Provide medical input into integration readiness and Medical capability assessments.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated capability in scientific data analysis, strategic synthesis, and financial acumen.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
- High ethical standards and commitment to scientific integrity and patient focus
- High proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and medical literature evaluation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Doctoral degree required (PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred).
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry experience, ideally in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Medical Strategy, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of clinical development, regulatory processes, and standards of care.
- Demonstrated capability in scientific data analysis and strategic synthesis.
- Demonstrated experience supporting asset diligence or corporate development preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and cross‑functional influence.
