Position: Field Quality Engineer Manager: Nicholas Pohl
Job Summary:
The Field Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing and reporting warranty and concession data to drive process, design, or component improvement projects, which will deliver annual DPU and cost reduction. The FQE will work closely with process, product, and lean engineering to support or lead quality projects. In addition to, the FQE will work closely with customers and technical support in analyzing field quality problems.
Responsibilities:
Initiate product and process engineering projects to reduce unit defects
Create and maintain prioritized project list to support yearly quality improvement goals
Maintain monthly savings and project metrics to forecast warranty DPPM metrics
Collect data to determine component and system failure modes and rates; CFR Tool and analysis, CHPs (cumulative hazard plots), parts return, and supplier analysis
Develop and sustain relationships with technical support, customers, suppliers, and field service representatives to better understand field quality issues
Execute site visits and participate in conference calls to identify and remedy customer equipment issues
Review and report daily warranty and concession claims
Utilize various tools to correlate warranty field failures back to factory processes
Lead and support projects for component, system, and process improvements
Develop business cases to support project and resource requirements
Respond daily to technical questions and requests from technical support and field service representatives
Support corporate quality initiatives for process certification, NCI, NPI and QMS
Percentage of Travel: 10%
Qualifications:
Min. Yrs. Experience: 5 years
Education Standard: Bachelor's Degree
Education Type: Engineering or related field
Key Competencies:
5 years experience in quality engineering, manufacturing/process engineering, or design engineering
Experience in quality management, operations, lean manufacturing processes including visual management
Computer literate within a Windows environment and proficient with Microsoft Office products
Strong Analytical Skills
Strong Customer satisfaction focus, internal and external
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
Good skills in the following competencies: Creativity, Team Building, Planning and Organization, Communication, and Follow up
Technical experience with HVAC systems preferred
Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:
$75,700.00 - $107,660.00
