Your Role at Baxter
Apply human factors engineering principles to invent, build, and assess world-class medical products while engaging with cross-functional program teams. With minimal oversight, plan, schedule, and lead human factors engineering activities for developing new and upgrading existing medical products with product participants (customers, marketing, and engineering). What You'll Do:
- Develop and communicate project scope, plans, tasks, and deliverables with program teams; manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key achievements through clear, concise oral and written communications.
- Perform human factors/usability assessments for hardware, software, labeling, and disposable products by applying HFE principles in ergonomics, human machine interface, anthropometrics, data analysis, etc.
- In partnership with other R&D teams, develope product prototypes for user interface evaluation and validation.
- Actively participate in project teams to ensure sound human factors principles are considered and implemented.
- Draw conclusions and providing HFE recommendations by analyzing a range of technical inputs.
- Develop and maintain an effective and collaborative working relationship with internal and external collaborators (cross-functional project team, research/recruiting vendors, customers/users, etc.).
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Engineering or a related field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Human Computer Interface, Applied Psychology, etc.) from a recognized institution, Master preferred.
- 4+ years of human factors relevant experience; experience
- Demonstrated experience in applying human factors methods on programs throughout the product lifecycle (user research, use-related risk analysis, formative & summative product evaluation, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in effectively applying HFE requirements/standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in written and verbal form.
- Proven capability to analyze information and offer suggestions based on technical data from diverse functions (Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, etc.).
- Demonstrated understanding of user centered build, heuristic evaluations, build of experiments, and qualitative data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $118,000-$121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
