A hospital pharmacy team in Stillwater is seeking an experienced Overnight Pharmacist for a 3-month full-time contract. This role follows a 7 on / 7 off schedule with 10-hour overnight shifts. The position offers a unique opportunity to work independently while supporting multiple sites in an acute care setting. Local candidates are preferred, but travel pharmacists will be considered with stipends available.
Term of Assignment: 3 months (ASAP start)
Schedule:
• 7 days on / 7 days off
• 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM (overnight shifts)
Job Duties:
- Serve as the overnight pharmacist for the primary site (Lakeview Hospital)
- Provide remote order verification support for three additional Wisconsin hospitals
- Process overnight prescriptions for ambulatory care and hospice patients
- Respond to clinical emergencies (Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke)
- Support Level II nursery (neonates as early as 34 weeks gestation)
- Perform order verification and clinical review
- Provide drug information consults and phone support across multiple sites
- Verify and potentially prepare sterile IV compounds (no technician coverage overnight)
- Complete cart fills and Pyxis refills
- Manage inventory and automated dispensing systems
- Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
- Manage anticoagulation therapies
Requirements:
- Active Minnesota Pharmacist license (required)
- Epic experience (required)
- Recent hospital or health-system pharmacy experience (strongly preferred)
- Ability to work independently overnight without technician support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Epic Willow Ambulatory (WAMB) experience
- Pyxis ES and BD Pyxis Logistics experience
- Strong clinical background in acute care settings
