A closed-door long-term care pharmacy in Lexington is seeking a strong, dependable Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead operations and ensure compliance. This is a direct hire opportunity with an immediate start. The team has faced challenges with staffing reliability, so consistent attendance and leadership presence are critical for success in this role. Candidates with LTC experience and a proven management background are highly preferred.
Term of Assignment: ASAP start – Direct Hire
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday: Day Shift
- Evening and weekend coverage only as needed
Job Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing and patient care services
- Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances
- Develop and implement policies for safe and efficient operations
- Supervise and support pharmacists, technicians, and staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training
- Oversee inventory management to balance supply and minimize waste
- Collaborate with providers, insurance companies, and stakeholders
- Address customer concerns and ensure timely resolution
- Stay current on industry trends, medications, and regulatory updates
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and optimize workflow efficiency
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance and safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant pharmacy environment
Requirements:
- Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license
- 2–4 years of long-term care (LTC) experience (highly preferred)
- Recent pharmacy management experience required (LTC strongly preferred)
- Strong leadership, reliability, and attendance record
- Willingness to learn Frameworks system (training provided)
