Position Summary
This role, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, assists in the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, and delivery of medications and information and other pharmaceutical products to Phoenix Children’s patients in a timely and accurate fashion and in accordance with established regulations and procedures.
This position performs hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding. This role assists with the development, maintenance, and assessment of department policy and procedures. This position must maintain at least two (2) position specific competencies in accordance with the Pharmacy Department competency requirements. This role receives direct supervision from Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisors and Managers.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience
- One or more years of experience as a Phoenix Children’s Inpatient Hospital Pharmacy Technician OR 4 or more years of hospital pharmacy experience at an outside institution. (Required)
Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Arizona (Required)
- National Certification PTCB, ExCPT or equivalent (Required)
- One or more PTCB certification including but not limited to, Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician and/or (CSPT) Hazardous Drug Management Certificate, Medication History Certificate, etc. (Required)
- Current BLS Certification, and/or Technician Product Verification Certificate (Preferred)
Special Skills
- Experience with various types of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite. (Required)
