A Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time, contract position starting ASAP through June 10th, 2026, in the Philadelphia, PA area. This role serves middle school students, primarily grades 6-8, within a small caseload classroom setting. The position requires approximately 37.5 hours per week and offers a competitive pay range of $35-$55 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction to middle school students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate student needs and progress
- Utilize data collection and progress monitoring strategies to guide instruction
- Collaborate with staff, families, and related service providers to support student success
- Maintain compliance with special education laws, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education required
- Clearances in compliance with Pennsylvania state regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education processes and legal requirements
- Experience with diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring
- Strong ability to write detailed and effective IEPs
- Comfort working with middle school-aged students
