Job Description
We are seeking a Molecular Biology & Protein Scientist to support : DNA construct design/assembly, sample preparation for sequencing, DNA production & quantitation, mammalian cell culture & transfections, protein purification & quantitation, and automated liquid handling directly on a client site. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in biochemistry or a related field who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- DNA plasmid design & cloning, purification, quantitation & QC
- High throughput molecular biology operations, including PCR setup, ligation reactions, DNA purification using liquid handling automation.
- Nanopore sequencing: sample preparation, system operation, & data analysis
- Maintain mammalian cell lines using aseptic techniques and ensure consistent supply for twice-weekly transient transfection processes.
- Perform transient transfections and purify antibodies/proteins using automated equipment under supervision.
- Cell-free peptide expression using automated equipment under supervision.
- Accurately document experimental procedures and results in client-provided Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs).
- Analyze and summarize data upon training and contribute to troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- B.S. in Biochemistry or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
The position is onsite, full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of
