An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher to support students in a resource classroom setting in Arvada, CO. This contract position is set to begin immediately and will continue through May 22, 2026. The role involves delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, ensuring they receive appropriate educational support in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction in a resource classroom based on specially designed instruction (SDI) principles.
- Support and implement IEP goals, adapting instructional approaches to meet alternative standards.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary IEP team members, including general educators, therapists, and administrators.
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records to inform ongoing instructional planning.
- Employ evidence-based teaching strategies to promote student engagement and academic growth.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Professional Teacher License with a Generalist Endorsement (5-21).
- Extensive knowledge of the IEP process and special education instructional strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of education professionals.
- Proven experience with special designed instruction and supporting students on individualized or alternative standards.
- Candidates must hold or have applied for the appropriate professional license; temporary, substitute, interim, or vocational licenses will not be accepted.
