Data Engineer - Intern
Position Summary
This internship offers hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies and real enterprise data in a cloud-native environment. The Data Engineer – Intern will support the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines that fuel advanced analytics, AI/ML, and business decision-making across the company
Essential Functions and Duties
• Assist with the development of robust, scalable data pipelines to support enterprise data products and reporting.
• Help ingest and transform raw data into clean, usable formats using tools like Databricks, Delta Live Tables (DLT), SQL, and Python.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and data scientists on the Data Intelligence Team to support strategic data initiatives.
• Document technical specifications, data workflows, and data quality rules as part of our governance processes.
• Participate in team standups, sprint planning, and peer reviews to build software engineering and agile delivery skills

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required Education:
• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer science, data science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
Required Knowledge:
• General knowledge of advanced concepts, practices and procedures related to Data Engineering
• Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Interest in data architecture, cloud computing, and modern data platforms like Databricks, Azure
Preferred Knowledge:
• Familiarity with python programming

Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working conditions include normal office setting.
