Position Title: Analyst I
Business Title: Laboratory Analyst I, Metals

Location: Knoxville, TN
Reports to (N+1): Metals Laboratory Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours Worked: First shift typically 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary
The Laboratory Analyst I, Metals is responsible for preparing and analyzing a wide variety of client samples for elemental content using analytical chemistry methodology and various spectroscopic instruments.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Preparing samples, standard reference materials, reagents, and/or solutions.
- Maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
- Performing and documenting routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation.
- Documenting/recording raw data and results of analyses.
- Executing analytical procedures in accordance with the appropriate regulations.
- Follow the guidelines set forth with the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Follows the guidelines set forth in the company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Adhere to the requirements of the company Quality System.
- Other duties as defined by supervisor, department needs and workload.

Education And Experience
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or closely related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory preferred.
- Experience in a GLP/cGMP and ISO regulated environment preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
