Brief Job Overview
We are seeking a high-energy,
hands-on Team Lead to drive a dynamic squad of engineers in developing and maintaining critical software applications. This isn't a "sit back and delegate" role; we need an
innovator who leads from the front. The ideal candidate is a technical powerhouse who knows how to get the job done, balancing active coding with the mentorship and tactical management of a high-performing team. You will be the bridge between technical execution and project delivery, ensuring our solutions are scalable, secure, and cutting-edge.

The Software Engineering Team Lead has the following responsibilities as the technical heartbeat of the team:
- Lead by Example: Spend a significant portion of your time "in the trenches” writing code, building prototypes, and solving the team's most complex technical hurdles.
- Drive Innovation: Actively identify and implement new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve development velocity and code quality.
- Technical Stewardship: Provide deep-dive architectural guidance and conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure excellence in ReactJS, NextJS, TypeScript, and SpringBoot.
- Tactical Execution: Translate business requirements into actionable technical tasks. You don’t just plan; you ensure the team executes with precision using Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies.
- Collaborate & Bridge: Work closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to manage expectations, mitigate technical risks, and provide transparent status updates.
- Mentor & Level-Up: Directly manage and coach a team of 6 engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and high accountability.
- Troubleshoot & Resolve: Act as the primary technical escalation point, utilizing your problem-solving "sixth sense" to unblock the team and keep projects on track.
Who is USP Looking For?
The Successful Candidate Will Have a Demonstrated Understanding Of Our Mission, Commitment To Excellence Through Inclusive And Equitable Behaviors And Practices, Ability To Quickly Build Credibility With Stakeholders, Along With The Following Competencies And Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in software development, with at least 2–3 years in a formal or informal leadership capacity (Lead, Senior, or Principal level).
- Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in ReactJS, NextJS, TypeScript, SpringBoot, and Java. You should be comfortable jumping into any part of the stack.
- Execution Mindset: A proven "doer" who has successfully delivered enterprise-level projects from ideation to production.
- The "Innovator" Factor: Someone who stays ahead of industry trends and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo to build a better product.
- Communication: The ability to explain complex technical "whys" to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Additional Desired Preferences
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS or Azure, and a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can pivot quickly when business needs change.
- Conflict Resolution: Ability to navigate team dynamics and stakeholder interests to find the best path forward.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Team Size: 6 Direct Reports (Mixed levels of seniority).
Focus: Mentorship, performance reviews, and technical career development.

Compensation
Base Salary Range:
USD $134,100.00 – $173,900.00 annually.
Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
