Job Summary
The Scientist I will contribute to analytical characterization of protein-based assay development by performing routine and complex laboratory analyses. This role supports method development, troubleshooting activities and execution of analytical testing to ensure high-quality data in support of research, development, and manufacturing programs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with protein chemistry techniques and enzymatic assays and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform protein characterization using techniques such as SDS PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC/UPLC (SEC, IEX, RP), capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy-based assays.
- Conduct sample preparation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation with high attention to detail.
- Support development, optimization, and qualification of analytical methods for proteins and endotoxins.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, electronic records, and documentation in compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality analytical results within project timelines.
- Communicate analytical results and technical insights to project teams and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot analytical assays and laboratory instrumentation as needed.
- Assist in maintaining lab readiness, including instrument calibration, inventory management, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain a high level of professional expertise by staying current with scientific and industry literature, technologies, and products.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on protein analysis experience with a Bachelor's degree. 1+ years industry experience with a Master's degree. Experience working under GxP requirements a plus.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Certification/Licensure: None.
- Other: Strong organizational and documentation abilities, excellent communication and teamwork skills, ability to work independently in a dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks, highly collaborative and self-motivated teammate, ability to work productively under deadlines, high attention to detail, willingness to learn.
The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
