Provide expert oncology nursing care in the infusion area of a well-established cancer care center. This role focuses on delivering professional, safe, and compassionate chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in an outpatient setting, supporting patients and families through their cancer journey. Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary cancer care team to maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments following care protocols and safety standards
- Perform thorough assessments of patient health history and current status
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management
- Monitor physical and emotional well-being through frequent evaluations during treatment
- Serve as the primary communicator between patients and physicians, clearly conveying patient concerns and feedback
- Triage patient care needs and respond appropriately to clinical changes
- Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the Cancer Care Director and Physician Services Senior Leader on additional duties and care strategies
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience
- Certified in ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in oncology nursing
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
