This opportunity is for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students in a school setting located in Decatur, AL. This contract position serves as a backfill, starting immediately and continuing through May 22, 2026. The role involves delivering behavior support services under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and collaborating with educational teams to assist students of varying ages and severity levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans and support individualized student needs
- Collaborate with BCBAs for supervision (up to 5 hours per week), meetings, and professional development
- Maintain flexibility with work location assignments within the school system
- Adhere to school start and end times, typically beginning 15 minutes before students arrive
- Support students across all grade levels and behavioral needs without restrictions
Qualifications
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required; expired certifications are not accepted
- Experience working with diverse student populations and behavior severities
- Ability to adapt to various school environments including elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Strong communication skills for occasional team interactions and possible quick virtual meetings after offer acceptance
- Availability for a 35-hour work week, with an additional maximum of 5 hours for supervision and meetings
Typical Schedule
- Elementary: 8:00 AM 2:30 PM
- Junior High/Middle School & All Grades AAA/ASFL: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
- High School: 8:30 AM 3:40 PM
