Job Summary
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and market share expansion within a designated territory for Becton Dickinson India Private Limited. You will lead and motivate a sales team, develop strategic sales plans, and build strong customer relationships to achieve revenue targets and promote BD's innovative healthcare solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and objectives for the designated area.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure their success and professional development.
- Identify and cultivate strong relationships with key customers, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare institutions, to understand their needs and position BD products and solutions effectively.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with marketing, product management, and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective product launches, promotional activities, and customer support.
- Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, reports, and business reviews to senior management.
- Manage sales budgets, expenses, and resources effectively to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular field visits with team members to coach, support, and evaluate their performance.
- Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking events to promote BD's brand and expand market reach.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 3-5 years in a sales management role within the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of the Indian healthcare market, including key customers, competitors, and regulatory landscape.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Results-oriented with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and ethical business practices.
