The
2026 Commercial Banking Rotational Credit Analyst Training Program is designed with a primary objective: to develop the next generation of Commercial Banking Officers and Relationship Managers at Byline. This 24‑month program provides a structured pathway for high‑potential talent to build deep credit expertise, strengthen analytical capabilities, and gain hands‑on experience in client relationship management, and the foundational skills required for success in commercial banking.
The program begins with five to six weeks of full‑time, instructor‑led classroom training, followed by various rotational assignment options across key lending groups, including Commercial & Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, Sponsor Finance, Business Banking, Treasury Management, and Special Assets. These rotations immerse analysts in real credit work, underwriting, portfolio management, and business development activities alongside Byline’s seasoned bankers and credit professionals.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will transition into full‑time roles within one of Byline’s commercial lending teams, based on business needs, performance, and individual interests.
Target Start Date: August 2026
Job Responsibilities
- Underwrite credit transactions for various lines of business
- Spread and analyze financial statements
- Monitor credit risk within loan portfolio
- Prepare annual financial reviews and credit memos
- Accompany lenders on customer and prospect calls to support the bank’s relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and product knowledge
- Provide support to the relationship managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics preferred)
- Targeted minimum GPA of 3.5, considered in context with overall experience and strengths
- Strong analytical, multi‑tasking, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams
- Excellent relationship‑building and client‑interaction skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking, curiosity, collaboration, and comfort speaking up in group settings; personable and engaging with stakeholders; technical credit skills can be developed through training
- Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities, student organizations, relevant clubs, or prior internship experience that reflects initiative, leadership, and interest in financial or client‑focused work
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with target graduation from April 2026 to June 2026
- Travel to various Byline locations across Illinois will be necessary; analysts are expected to provide their own transportation or use public transit to reach Chicago, Libertyville, Itasca, Naperville, Wilmette, or Morton Grove (hybrid/remote options may be available)
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.

This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation & Benefits
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
Compensation: $65,000.00 annual salary + Incentive + $3,000.00 sign-on
In addition, Byline provides benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, paid time off and much more! Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
