SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage the invoicing process complete with all required backup documentation across multiple projects. Responsibilities include incorporating project budgets into accounting work breakdown structures, reviewing supplier agreements and ensuring accurate processing of purchase orders and invoices.
The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, is a strong and effective communicator, is detail-oriented, financially savvy, and highly organized.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with project managers to develop accurate and cost-effective budgets for each project for incorporation into firm’s ERP.
- Produce customer invoicing at required intervals (monthly typically) that meet all customer stipulated requirements to be considered a complete and acceptable submission.
- Assist in the management of procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle, including issuing purchase orders, tracking expenditures, and supporting collection of all required documentation needed to submit for customer invoicing.
- Maintain thorough records of procurement transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and Payroll to collect all project required certified payroll as required.
- Conduct cost analyses and provide to project teams for regular review and action.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Stay current on industry best practices in procurement and construction operations and facilities operations services.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Certification in construction accounting is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting and financial procedures.
- Understanding of the A/E/C industry.
